April Awareness Month
April is important to us because it marks both Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In past years, we organized activities and participated in sign-waving events to raise awareness of these issues. Since 2021, we have held an annual press conference to share statewide statistics on reported cases of child physical and sexual abuse in Hawaiʻi, with our partner professionals also attending. April also gives FCJCO the opportunity to offer resources to victims and to invite the community to help make a difference.
Hope & Healing Fundraiser
Hope and healing are integral to our mission and also serve as the theme of our annual fundraiser. Celebrated every year in the fall, we invite members of our community, partner professionals, and more to raise vital funds for the ongoing work of the Children’s Justice Center of Oʻahu. The night also honors an individual whose work and service have made an impact on FCJCO in the past year. Through donations, participation, and connection, Hope & Healing is a way for many to be involved in our service, providing a safe and nurturing environment for child victims who come to the Center.
Heroes of Hope Luncheon
Our annual Heroes of Hope Luncheon honors individuals and organizations who impact the lives of child victims. We gather staff from the CJC and partner professionals from all our Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs). It is an afternoon focused on connection, collaboration, and professional development. We honor the professionals who directly assist each child and their families. Their tireless dedication enables healing, and this event is our way of expressing gratitude.
